This is the home page for Nick Hancock's MARATHON DES SABLES (MdS) in 2010. I completed the MdS in support of the National Association for Colitis and Crohn's (NACC) in their 30th anniversary year.

Preparation Timeline:

03.04.10 - Start of Marathon des Sables, Western Sahara Desert, Morocco

02.04.10 - Road transfer to desert camp at race start for admin checks

01.04.10 - Flew to Ouarzazate, Morocco

06.03.10 - Glasgow to Edinburgh Double Marathon - finished 64th of 100 in 11:41:50

20.01.10 - Running numbers issued. I was number 856.

10.01.10 - Final Balance (£1,630) due - PAID!

17.12.09 - The course for the 25th MdS was extended to reach a total of 250 km!

10.09.09 - Second entry payment (£1,000) due - PAID!

20.07.09 - The total cost of entry to the 2010 MdS was confirmed as £3,130!

07.05.09 - The dates for the race were Friday 2nd to Monday 12th April 2010.
